Michael Gelsanliter is a board certified massage therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. He has trained in
- Oncology Massage with Tracy Walton,
- ScarWork with Molly Hackett, based on the teachings of Sharon Wheeler.
- Manual Lymph Drainage with Nicola McGill of Klose Training,
- Providing Massage in Hospice Care with Irene Smith.
Michael worked at the Cancer Community Center as a Reiki Master Therapist from 2007 to 2017. Currently he is a per diem oncology massage therapist at the Dempsey Centers in Lewiston and South Portland and maintains his own private therapeutic massage practice in Portland, Maine.
He taught Anatomy and Physiology and Massage for People with Cancer at the New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts from 2016 to 2022. A graduate of Kenyon College, Michael speaks Italian, French and Spanish.
Working in hospitals, infusion centers and hospice, Michael brings a calming presence and caring touch to help support clients with cancer related symptoms and side effects.
